Paul goes on to remind believers that they are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, who inhabits their hearts at salvation (2 Corinthians -17).
Because of that, they are to be separate from the world—in the world, but not of the world—and nowhere is that more important than in life’s most intimate relationship—marriage.
In 2010, my flash fiction piece “Judgement Day” was Highly Commended in the Commonwealth Short Story Competition.
The competition theme for that year had been “Science, Technology and Society”, and we had to write our submissions within the specified limit of 600 words.
I had just taken part in one of the first Commonwealth Conversations, a series of panel discussions that Commonwealth Writers have been organising at various literary festivals and events, to discuss a range of thorny topics from self-censorship to gender politics, and a few things in between.
That appearance had in itself come out of an earlier connection.
In 2014, Steven Fabian left the show to work for the syndicated newsmagazine Inside Edition and on July 27, 2015, Beth Troutman left the show as well to go work for WCNC-TV in Charlotte, NC to anchor for their weeknight 6 and 11pm newscasts, which leaves Nick, Gayle and Christian as the only original presenters, left on the program.
