Unfortunately, Microsoft didn’t really give us much warning on this.
Microsoft started rolling out the Windows XP End of Support Notification tool to Windows XP Home Edition and Professional computers via Windows Update on March 5, 2014.
The update is listed as Windows XP End of Support popup (KB2934207) and can be installed today via Windows Update on Windows XP boxes.
Now that this update has been released, how do we get rid of the popup?
If you’re using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or In Tune to manage updates for your Windows systems, there’s nothing else you need to do.
Microsoft updated their blog post that announced the Windows XP Eo S Notification on March 4, 2014 to include that they will not be publishing the XP Eo L notification hotfix to systems that are managed by SCCM, WSUS, or In Tune.
